Have you or has someone you know worked to improve the lives of people with mental health and substance use conditions? Are you an MHA affiliate with an innovative program for helping those in your community?

Nominate for one of MHA’s awards to be given at the 2010 Annual Conference. Awardees receive a paid trip to Washington, DC! Download the Awards Nomination Brochure. All submissions must be received by April 30th.


AWARDS AT A GLANCE

mpower Award Clifford W. Beers Award

Who is eligible? A teen or young adult (13-23) who has spoken out about mental health issues to educate his or her peers and fight stigma.
What does the winner get? The recipient will receive full registration at Mental Health America’s 2010 Annual Conference, as well as two nights’ lodging at and round-trip travel to the conference.

Who is eligible? A consumer of mental health and/ or substance abuse services who best reflects the example set by Clifford W. Beers in his efforts to improve conditions for, and attitudes toward, people with mental illnesses.
What does the winner get? The recipient will receive an expense paid trip to Mental Health America’s 2010 Annual Conference, including full registration fees, travel and hotel expenses for the entire conference.

Innovation in Challenging Economic Times Sandy Brandt Volunteer Service Award

Who is eligible? An MHA affiliate who has executed a successful program using innovation and creativity in the face of funding challenges and the fallout of economically difficult times for the nation and their communities.
What does the winner get? A representative from the winning organization will receive a one-day complimentary registration to Mental Health America’s 2010 Annual Conference, as well as one night’s lodging at and round-trip travel to the conference.

Who is eligible? A volunteer who has exhibited extraordinary service and ongoing commitment to the Mental Health America mission through long-time dedicated at the local, state and national levels.
What does the winner get? The recipient will receive a one-day complimentary registration to Mental Health America’s 2010 Annual Conference, as well as one night’s lodging at and round-trip travel to the conference.
